Tomori Kyoto

Tomori Kyoto is a three-bedroom flat in Kamigyō-ku, north of Nijō Castle, with every room on one level: the living room, the kitchen, all three bedrooms, the bath, the washroom and the toilet. Many Kyoto houses run over two or three floors; here there are no stairs to climb inside, which makes it an easy base for families travelling with grandparents or small children. Two bedrooms are Western-style, one with two single beds and one with a 1.5-metre double; the third is a tatami room with a tokonoma alcove, where a futon is laid out for a fifth guest. The bath, washbasin and toilet are separate rooms, so one person can bathe while the others get ready. The kitchen has a dishwasher, an induction hob and a rice cooker, there is a washer and dryer in the flat, and a cot and a high chair are available on request. Nijō Castle is about 10 minutes away on foot, a large supermarket 2 minutes, a convenience store 1 minute and the Horikawa-Marutamachi bus stop 2 minutes.
