Rivendell House

Rivendell House is a two-storey machiya-style place for up to three in Nishikujo, the everyday neighbourhood just south of Kyoto Station. The ground floor has a comfortable living room, a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom and a separate toilet, and opens onto a small courtyard with an outdoor soaking tub, an unexpected luxury at this scale. Upstairs is a tatami bedroom that sleeps up to three, with its own toilet, which makes it a natural fit for a couple, a small family or friends travelling together. Kintetsu Toji Station is about five minutes on foot and one stop, roughly three minutes, from Kyoto Station, so the whole city and the wider Kansai region are easy to reach. Day-to-day is well covered too, with two Japanese supermarkets within a three-minute walk along with a 24-hour convenience store and a drugstore.
