Tomori Kyoto is a three-bedroom flat in Kamigyō-ku with every room on one level. It sleeps 5, is about 10 minutes' walk from Nijō Castle, and now takes bookings on Airbnb.

At Tomori Kyoto, the living room, the kitchen, all three bedrooms, the bath and the toilet share one floor. From the front door to the tatami room at the far end, there are no stairs.
The flat is in Kamigyō-ku, north of Nijō Castle. It is registered under the Private Lodging Business Act, takes up to 5 guests, and is now open for bookings on Airbnb.
Everything on one floor
Most homes in Kyoto run over two or three floors, and machiya stairs tend to be narrow and steep. Tomori Kyoto is on the ground floor of a building, with the living and dining space, the kitchen, three bedrooms, the bath and the toilet all on one level, so suitcases, grandparents and small children never have to climb a flight of stairs once they are inside.
The bath, the washroom and the toilet are three separate rooms. With 5 people staying, one can bathe while the others wash up or use the toilet.
Beds for five
Two bedrooms are Western-style: one has two single beds, the other a double about 1.5 metres wide, and up to 4 guests sleep in these two rooms. A fifth guest takes the third room, a tatami room with a tokonoma alcove, where a futon is laid out before arrival. Groups of fewer than 4 who want all three rooms can ask when booking, or at least 3 days before arrival. A cot and a high chair are available on request.
The kitchen has a dishwasher, an induction hob and a rice cooker, and the flat has its own washer and dryer, so a week of laundry gets washed and dried without leaving.
10 minutes from Nijō Castle
Nijō Castle is about 10 minutes away on foot, a large supermarket 2 minutes and a convenience store 1 minute. The Horikawa-Marutamachi bus stop, 2 minutes from the door, has buses to the main parts of the city, and Nijōjō-mae Station on the Tozai subway line and JR Nijō Station are both within a kilometre.
