The first thing to know about this house is the parking: free space for up to two cars, which is genuinely hard to find this close to central Kyoto. Beyond that it's a comfortable, well-equipped place for up to five, with a kitchen, a washer-dryer and a living room to come back to. It's well placed for walking, with Nijo Castle about 600 metres away (roughly eight minutes on foot), Nishiki Market around fifteen minutes and the Shijo-Kawaramachi shopping district about eighteen. For the eastern sights, a short bus ride reaches Gion in about twenty minutes and Kiyomizu-dera in around thirty.
